Being a blogger in today’s world seems more like a business than just being yourself, and being the Capricorn that I am, I can see why blogging has become this way- and no, I have nothing against it.
However, after reading a blog post by fellow blogger Polydeux, it made me reevaluate my purpose in blogging. When I first started back in 2012 (yep, the golden age) thanks to the encouragement of several people, it was definitely a fun time as I shared my fashion knowledge on the world wide web.
Back then, all one would have to do is simply take a photo, label it as an #OOTD, and that’s it. Nowadays, it’s easy to turn it into a career and I hope to make it into one myself, but like Mariel put it, it can truly be difficult to be yourself in an overpopulated part of the internet.
While it is easy to fall sway to the free perks that numerous companies and brands often hand out, I’ve resolved to share products and the like I personally enjoy using/interested in, meaning that I only want to work with people and brands that I resonate well with while being as frank as possible.
Honesty is important to me, and I hope you will continue to see that as you journey with me.
When Sugar Spa asked me to be a brand ambassador a couple weeks ago, I was more than excited to work with them after hearing good things about the company.
Located in Chula Vista, I tried out their DIY teeth whitening session. Although there were other options such as a 24k gold mask, I specifically chose this one because I’ve been struggling with maintaining my own and because I heard that it works quite well.
Upon my arrival, not only was their location basically interior goals, the team has been incredibly patient and kind as we filmed a short advertisement for Snapchat. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to redo it, but it was a fun and teachable experience.
Teeth whitening in general tends to get pretty pricey, so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered how affordable it was at the Sugar Spa. In addition, it was also pretty quick as I had two sessions consisting of 25 minutes each.
I tried both the 10% and 12% peroxide solution despite having sensitive teeth (do not attempt unless you know you’re able to), and my teeth became brighter than before. As a gift, the staff gave me my own teeth whitening kit to use at home
, and I’ll be writing a review on that pretty soon.
Do I recommend it? Yes, I do and I’m not saying this because I was asked to. I truly enjoyed being a brand ambassador for Sugar Spa, and I will definitely be going back.
Did I mention that they’re currently offering memberships for $49? Not only will your wallet thank you, your skin and teeth will, too.
