Summer’s officially in the air this lovely July, especially here in San Diego
it’s been cloudy the past couple weeks, aka my kind of weather. While summer isn’t exactly my favorite season, I still enjoy the lovely blue skies, longer daytimes, and being by the water.
Speaking of which, if you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you may have known I’d be blogging about one of San Diego’s coolest hotels. Called the Lafayette Hotel, it’s located in the super chic neighborhood of North Park
which explains why it’s pretty cool. Built in 1964 by Larry Imig, he hoped to one day have his hotel become a historical icon. After numerous shifts in owners and a bit of renovating here and there, the Lafayette still retains that vintage old glamour that’s loved by many people today.
A while ago, I had the chance to be a model for a fun, summer shoot at the hotel. With the theme being very floral and Hawaii-esque, I couldn’t have been more excited, especially since I had just gotten a new bathing suit
which you’ll see in just a little bit 😉.

For the first shoot, I worked with Jax Connolly of Jax Connolly Photo to shoot some amazing handmade jewelry by Handcrafted Jewels, and it’s one of my favorite moments from last month so far. I can’t even begin to list down all the hilarious conversations behind these stunning photos
but they do go along with smizing and grabbing your girlfriends, if you get what I mean? 😉
And this is also where I got to show off my two piece I got from Forever 21
or at least the top half with these vintage Levi’s I wear almost everyday, a cute pair of hoop earrings, and the mules. Don’t worry- I’ve linked most of them here, but if you’re mobile, you’ll have an easier time on this app.
It may or may not have been the architecture fanatic that’s living inside of me, but I was drooling over this sign as well as the colonial exterior. To this day, I’m still kicking myself for not taking more photos of just this area
meaning that I’ll be back sometime if the future <3.
Another one of my favorite locations is the famous Weissmuller pool. Having been built by a five-time gold medalist Johnny Weissmuller, the pool today still resembles an Olympic swimming pool with its vertical stripes and nearly-there length- it’s just two inches shorter!. It was also here I found out that Florence Chadwell, the woman who swam across the English Channel, not only used to train here, but was also a local.
If you’ve read through my blog before, you may have heard of Erica before since we collaborated for a different street style shoot in North Park as well as a rustic wedding photoshoot a while ago. Since the day I first met her, she’s easily one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known, and like every photo she’s taken, it turns out magical every single time.

Being a brand ambassador for Lynt, a local athleisure brand, I switched my outfit into this cute, floral one piece shown above. Having blogged about them before, all of Lynt’s bodysuits are extremely versatile
yes, you can wear this at the beach and get away with it just like I did, hehe.
Although I didn’t stay here for the night, the Lafayette here in San Diego left its mark on me with its history, it’s stunning architecture, and this photoshoot. While I’ll never love summertime as much as I love autumn and winter, it’s memories like this that make me love it just a lil bit more.
