Can’t you believe it’s already the last day of March? Time moves so fast at times to the point where I don’t really notice until it’s too late
So, since I haven’t posted too many OOTDs, I decided it would be a great way to end the month with an outfit post
Today’s topic is all about one of spring’s hottest trends: the trouser pant.
Typically defined as a type of pant that’s from the waist to the ankles, trousers have become a necessary staple in modern fashionista’s wardrobe of today.
Originally, it started in Asia. Both men and women wore these types of pants for comfort and to be able to move around easily for their everyday tasks. It soon made its way to France when the men would start wearing them after the French Revolution. Goodbye wigs, high heels, and itchy stockings!
Fast forward to modern day, trousers are one of this year’s hottest trends not because of how comfortable and flexible they are, but how they can instantly make any outfit effortlessly chic.
If you’ve been following me on the blog or the gram, you may have seen photos with this OOTD already, but I still wanted to share with you because this look is super easy to recreate and the reason why it’s one of my favorite looks.
The Thinking Process
When coming up with this outfit, I wanted it to reflect who I am as a person. Being a lover of minimalism, you may have noticed that I stuck with two main colors of pink and black, the exception being this amazing Guess handbag (it has hints of brown).
The pieces I chose were also very simplistic, too, keeping in tune with my style.
Having been in love with the city of Paris since the age of seven, Parisian fashion always spoke to me because of how effortless they look all the time. Plus, it just happens to be one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world, so that’s saying something.
If there’s one thing I love about Parisian fashion, it’s all about the relaxed silhouette, aka nothing too tight and nothing too loose.
A staple of mine, this amazing bodysuit from Salud Shoppe may be a size small but it doesn’t suffocate me like most bodysuits do. It’s really breathable and comfortable for every day use. The trousers may be a little on the looser side of things, but it’s not too loose to the point where it looks like it’s sagging- it has the best of both worlds. Plus, I’m a sucker for clothing that oozes class.
As for the coat, the purse, and the shoes, they have one thing in common
and no, it’s not because it’s black: they’re structured pieces.
If you’re not sure what structured means, it’s basically clothing or accessories that are carefully tailored, the opposite of a flowy dress or a loose blouse.
While wearing this, I’ve gotten so many compliments as to how chic and casual it is. Here are the reasons why:
- Basic pieces often are the most stylish just as long as you know how to do it.
- The outfit itself is just a bodysuit, trousers, a long coat, statement shoes, and a cool handbag to match. Less can be more!
- If you feel confident in what you wear, that’ll show through your outfits.
So, if you decide to try this look (please send me your photos if you do- I’d love to feature it!) or any other outfit, if you’re truly feeling like a million bucks in your OOTD, you’ll always look amazing no matter what.
The world is your runway after all. Don’t be afraid to flaunt it!
