Meet Veronica. Coming from the “warm heart of Africa” Malawi, she started blogging as a way of sharing her passions and experiences. In the words of her favorite designer, Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, she believes that “fashion is a language that creates itself in clothes to interpret reality.”
It’s Valentine’s day! The day that has most shops busy especially the flower shops. It’s also one of the days that every girl across the globe gets anxious about. There are a few different reasons for this anxiety.
Those that are married simply are looking for their husbands to remind them that they are still loved. The ones that are in a stable relationship, are looking to their boyfriends to confirm their long-term intentions and hopefully this will be the perfect time for them to propose.
Lastly, the single ladies have their eyes wide open for that handsome hunk to ask them on a date and see if there is any future between them.
All women have different reasons to look forward to Valentine’s day. One thing that we all have in common is that we are all making plans for this day. Most importantly, we are all thinking of the perfect outfit for this day.
It is one of the days in a year that we (women) have an excuse to dress up in that cute and sexy outfit. Everyone has their own version of this ‘cute and sexy’. The main focus of all the efforts made is to make that lucky, special man smile and get his attention.
Two quotes came to mind from two of my favourite designers when I was thinking of putting together these outfits for valentine’s day:
- “One is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a little Black dress.”- Karl Lagerfeld
- “Simplicity is the keynote of all elegance.” -Coco Chanel
I used two colors – black being my favourite color and red because it is known to represent love.
I chose these two midi-pencil dresses. I paired both dresses with the signature Kurt Geiger heels and gold accessories.
The third, is a shirt dress with open zip at the front which I paired with black open toe heels and a black clutch.
Last but not least, for the last outfit, I choose the famous, high waisted, black faux leather pencil skirt. I paired it with a simple black t-shirt with red faux leather pocket and a pair of black Louboutin pumps.
All these looks are classy and elegant but yet exudes sex appeal.
Remember confidence is everything and BE-YOU-T-FULL.
ONE INTERESTING FACT: Did you know that Saudi Arabia is one of the countries that prohibits anyone from celebrating valentine’s day? Furthermore, merchants are forbidden from selling red roses, red clothing or any heart shaped products!
I hope you liked this post. My blog has given me a platform for me to help remind women (as much as myself) to embrace and appreciate themselves just as they are and not be apologetic for their confidence. That’s why I end my fashion blog with BE-YOU-T-FULL, to remind women to be themselves and in being that, you are uniquely beautiful.
