One of my favorite parts of being an intern is working at events, especially fashion shows. Aside from Spring Showcase (which is fast approaching) and its major runway shows, Fashion Week San Diego holds informal modeling events every month or so. On April 20th, it marked the first Viva La V, an informal modeling series event featuring designer Timmithea.
Held at the gorgeous La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, we got to work right away as soon as we arrived. This time, I worked at the front with Crystal, another intern, and we set up banners, decorated the patio area, and helped the designer as much as we can while the others assisted with dressing up the models.
Sometime around six, the event started. We guided guests to their spots while providing information as the models strutted about in Timmithea’s collections.
Viva La V ended shortly at eight, and as we cleaned up and put away decorations, we were treated to some delicious food courtesy of Cafe la Rue, the restaurant next door (literally).
While I did arrive home late, it was such an amazing experience and I can’t wait for the next one.
